Nowoczesne wiertło kręte, cylindryczne zgodne z normą NWKa, DIN 338 przeznaczone do wiercenia otworów przelotowych i nieprzelotowych o przekroju 3,2 mm. Wiertła tego typu wyprodukowane są z bardzo dobrej jakości stali szybkotnącej HSS, a ich ostrza są dodatkowo pokryte warstwą TiN (azotek tytanu), która wpływa na zmniejszenie ścieralności wierteł i wielokrotne zwiększenie ich wytrzymałości na bardzo ciężkie warunki pracy. Ostrza takich wierteł są twarde i odporne na ścieranie nawet pod wpływem wysokiej temperatury powstałej podczas wiercenia z dużą prędkością. Ich silne krawędzie tnące są niewrażliwe na uderzenia i działanie sił bocznych, a specjalne rowki wiórowe szybko odprowadzają skrawane wióry w górę otworu. Wiertła służą do obróbki twardych stali niestopowych, metali, tworzyw sztucznych, stopów metali, aluminium, miedzi i innych. Nadają się do konwencjonalnych wiertarek, tokarek, frezarek i nowoczesnych obrabiarek numerycznych sterowanych w systemie CNC – computer numerical control.
