Frez NFTb DIN 885 AN to frez trójstronny o ostrzach naprzemian skośnych, który posiada ostrza na krótkiej powierzchni walcowej oraz na obu powierzchniach czołowych. Szerokość freza b jest dobierana w zależności od szerokości frezowanego rowka. Posiada ostrza obwodowe skośne, aby ostrzą czołowym nadać dodatnią wartość kąta natarcia. Co drugi ostrze czołowe jest ścięte. Ścięcie ostrza czołowego jest zrobione z tej strony, z której wartość kąta natarcia byłaby ujemna. Frezy te stosowane są do frezowania głębokich rowków z dużymi posuwami na ostrze.Wykonany jest z wysoko gatunkowej stali szybkotnącej HSS-SK5.
